Online real estate sites like Zillow, Redfin, Realtor.com contain "estimates" of value for the property.
Those estimates are not appraisals. They are computer generated "guesstimates" based on unreconciled data.
Homeowners should never rely on these "guesstimates" for any reason other than their own entertainment.
Accepting a "guesstimate" of value as fact will more times than not result in disappointment as they are rarely accurate. Even Zillow recommends getting an appraisal if you really want to know what your true property value is.
